NARRATION
Hey, there. It’s Dania Ramos, creator of Timestorm. We’re bringing you another in-between seasons minisode. We last hear from the Ventura twins during the season two special when they need to get something important from the ghost of the pirate Cofresí:

BENI
We...we just need to know what this barometer is made of.

ALEXA
Yeah. The true name.

COFRESÍ
...sacred as Atabey to the Taínos.

COFRESÍ pulls out his sword. Sound emanates from it.

BENI
That beam of light coming from the sword it’s swirling with three colors.

ALEXA
The color shines so bright.

COFRESÍ
Guanín.

NARRATION
This is the first time the twins hear the word ‘guanín’ spoken out loud. But you, the listener, heard it a few times in the storyline about Aguey, a future cacique, or tribal chief. Here’s a moment where Aguey’s mother reminds him about his position on their island.

BIBI
Oh, Aguey. You know that as Bana’s younger brother, the role could fall on you one day and you could wear the guanín medallion as the island’s chief leader.

NARRATION
And later, the moment when Aguey, learns he is cacique and his wife, Karaya, places the sacred guanín medallion around his neck.

KARAYA
The guanín medallion.

AGUEY
I remember placing this medallion around my brother’s neck.

KARAYA
And now I get to place it around yours.

KARAYA PLACES THE MEDALLION AROUND HIS NECK.

KARAYA
Cacique.

NARRATION
As Cofresí’s ghost eventually reveals to the twins, guanín is a combination of three metals:

COFRESÍ
Gold. Silver. Copper.

ALEXA
Isn't that...bronze?

COFRESÍ
A special type of bronze. Guanín. You will cross this island as I did to find it. Buscan el tesoro. Find the treasure. Guanín.

NARRATION
Now, the twins know what they’re searching for, and it’s time for Horacio and Atabey to prepare them for the next chapter of the mission.

THE TIMESTORM. ANOTHER DIMENSION.

THE TWINS LAUGH AS THEY LAND IN THE TIMESTORM.

HORACIO
Bien hecho, mis primos.

ALEXA
You sent us to a pirate?

BENI
A ghost pirate?

HORACIO
Hey, I wish I could have met Cofresí. Do you know how many legends he’s inspired?

ALEXA
According to him, the legends are all wrong. All that time he was after guanín.

ATABEY
Cofresí understood why the Taínos revered this rare metal.

BENI
I could actually feel the energy coming off of the sword.

ALEXA
Yeah. The sword was beautiful...in a slightly terrifying way.

ATABEY
You both sensed a mystical connection to the guanín.

HORACIO
A connection you’ve held since I summoned you into the timestorm.

BENI
The barometer.

ATABEY
Made of guanín. Now, you will seek three guanín artifacts on the next part of the mission. Time to reveal what comes next.

SFX: BAROMETER SHIMMER.

HORACIO
Look at the back of the barometer.

SFX: BENI REMOVES THE BAROMETER FROM HIS POCKET.

BENI
Wait a minute. Where’d these words come from?

ALEXA
They weren’t etched into the metal before.

BENI
Faro. Tibes. Torre más alta.

HORACIO
They’re clues for your next quests.

ATABEY
For each one, you will travel into the past to learn where the guanín artifacts are hidden. And then you will find those artifacts in your present.

ALEXA
We have to find guanín in twenty eighteen?

BENI
Where?

HORACIO
Your search will take you across Puerto Rico in your own time.

ALEXA
Lucky for us, Josie’s magical tapestries can teleport us from Newark to San Juan.

BENI
Yeah, I really like going back and forth between the two stores.

ATABEY
You’ll begin this Saturday. Teleport to San Juan in the morning. Until then, you can start researching.

BENI
Researching?

SFX: BAROMETER BUZZ.

HORACIO
Ah, sounds like it’s time to head back to earth. Footwear!

SFX: WHOOSH OF FOOTWEAR CHANGE.

BENI
About this research—

SFX: DRAMATIC THUNDERCLAP.

HORACIO
Ay, does the timestorm always have to whisk them away mid-sentence?

ATABEY
They’ll figure out what to research. They’ve got the clues etched into the barometer. Faro. Tibes. Torre más alta.

HORACIO
I still can’t believe they got to meet Cofresí.

ATABEY
Technically, Cofresí’s ghost.

HORACIO
The guy was a legend! His love of the sea, mysterious caves, secret treasure. A misunderstood rebel in search of elusive guanín relics, hidden across Puerto Rico.

ATABEY
And now it’s up to your cousins to find the guanín.
